· The Bottom Line:  To busy to plan Family Home Evening?  This is the DVD for you.  This DVD teaches your family about family responsibility, includes everything but the desert.

· Pros:    Doesn’t require any preparation
              Animated so even the youngest child will enjoy
              Gives family members assignments
              Has discussion questions
              Refers to the scriptures

· Cons:  Takes away from the preparation and inspiration of FHE
              Once it is used not as fun to use again. (According to my teenage daughter but my younger boys enjoy watching it again.

· Description:  Family Home Evening on DVD with chances to pause and read the scriptures and discuss the questions
                        All about children’s responsibility to be a helper around the house.  
                        Starts with a Sing-A-Long Song, with your choice from 4 songs.
                        Pauses for Opening Prayer, with the steps for prayer listed on the screen
                        Shares the story of the Anti-Nephi Lehis and how the 2000 Stripling Warriors helped their families from the scriptures.
                        Shows an animated short video about a two young children and how they are/aren’t happy helpers and the consequences.
                        Has a scripture to look up and discuss as a family
                        Discussion questions are next asked about the scripture and animated story.
                       Concludes with someone bearing his or her testimony, a song and a prayer.

· Review:  This is a great idea for busy families.  I would hesitate to recommend using them more than once a month because Family Home Evening should be an inspired family event.  Saying that my family loves this Family Home Evening.  They all want to be the conductor (that person gets the controls).  This FHE about being a Happy Helper is by far my families favorite.  It teaches how each family member has its own responsibilities.    I like that the words for the songs appear on the screen.  This is a great teaching tool.  This would be great for a young family or a newly converted family to teach them the steps for family home evening.  Great to have on hand for the hectic week where you didn’t have time to prepare.
